Gay people warned over absconder

BBC News

Detectives believe a man who absconded from a Kent prison is preying on members of the gay and transgender communities in Sussex.

Sussex Police said Nigel Rowell, also known as Nick or Nicholas, might have been targeting people for theft through dating websites and newspapers adverts.

Rowell, 44, failed to return to HMP Blantyre House in Goudhurst after being granted weekend release in June.

He was serving a five-year sentence for burglary, theft and deception.

Sussex Police think Rodwell could have been in Worthing, Eastbourne, Hove, Brighton and Horsham in recent weeks.
