You have eco- friendly bags that you take to the grocery store with you, you recycle and you try to avoid unnecessary trips in your car to help save our planet. You may think that you are doing all that you can, but you are missing a few opportunities to save planet Earth. There are a few things that you can change in your beauty regimen to also help. There are many organic products for your skin and hair that work just as well as your current beauty products.
The Morrocco Method is a gluten-free all natural organic vegan line that includes shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo will help promote healthy and shiny hair growth by only washing out the bad oils on your scalp and leaving the oils the will benefit your hair. The conditioner will add extra all natural oils that will help fight any damage to your hair.
Aveda is a great company that has been eco-friendly from the very beginning. They have a full lineup of products for hair and skin care. Although Aveda has a great variety in its line, everything is biodegradable in their packaging.
TIGI has been known for their bright colored packaging and fun names, but now they have come out with an excellent organic line. The new line, appropriately named “Love Peace and the Planet,” will offer you an earth friendly product while keeping your hair looking and feeling its best.
We all love the taste of coconut, but did you know that your hair can also benefit from it? Spectrum Coconut Oil is a conditioning treatment the can help restore your hair. This oil is affordable, with the price being staying around seven to ten dollars for a fourteen ounce container, and it is available on the internet. It will help protect your hair from all outside elements such as UV rays, wind, and cold weather.
The beauty market has many skin care and make-up organic lines out. Before you make a purchase read the labels to make sure the product is organic. Some of our favorite organic skin care lines include Aveeno and Burts Bees. Aveeno has a great oatmeal line that is very soothing to the skin for any age.
Many make-up lines have ingredients that are hard to pronounce, let alone knowing what the chemicals even are! Our skin can be very sensitive and react to these chemicals with rashes and irritations. We have found a few great Eco-friendly lines that we love. PlantLove is a professional line by CARGO. All of the ingredients are natural and organic right down to the packaging. This line can be found at Sephora. Another great line is Physician’s formula. They have many different make-up products for sensitive skin.
Natural products found at the store or even in your own kitchen can also be great for your organic beauty routine. Sugar mixed with olive oil is one of the best ways to exfoliate your skin. Mix them together and exfoliate your skin in the shower. To hydrate your newly exfoliated skin you can use Shea butter, found at most health food stores. Lemons can be used for many different things, for example- dab some on a blemish to clear it up or to lighten age spots. Essential oils are another great buy for natural skin care. Tea Tree oil is great for acne. Lavender can be used to soothe irritated skin or for minor burns. Peppermint and Eucalyptus can be great to sooth a cold and sinuses. When buying Essential oils make sure they are 100% pure! These oils can also be found at most health food stores.
We are truly blessed to have so many opportunities to go green. It is easier than ever to do your part in helping the world be a cleaner place, so fill up your vanity with new organic products. There are many different lines to choose from so if one does not work for you, try something new.
