Religion and being Transgender

I was just reading about a gay priest. I have always been confused by gays and transgender people when it comes to religion. Why would anyone want to embrace a religion which openly condemns them for the life they lead?
Maybe it is just me, but I can’t follow anything that condemns me for who I am. Religion has always been a strangely interesting subject to me because of its conflicting rules and ways.
Being transgender I have a unique view on religion, I tend to follow more pagan ways than any others. It is the feeling of being accepted and I also just do not believe what other religions offer.
I think the most important thing is to believe in what makes you happy.
